Video: Rear Window Shattering

The f150’s have that issue in spades. Like one of the most common issues. It happened on my last f150 (2014). Sounded like someone hit me with a sledgehammer when it shattered. On the Fords, it’s a result of the contacts getting corroded on the defrost grid where the sliding rear window contacts those wires.

This happened to someone else on here I think he got the runaround with it on getting it replaced under warranty.

That's crazy fr, glad I have never been in such situation myself.

My first car was a 1967 Mustang coupe which I purchased new. Three years later, bought a new 1970 Challenger and sold the Mustang to my girlfriend. In 1972, married her in order to get the Mustang back LOL. Later, we went on a weekend trip, took the Challenger and parked the Mustang in our locked garage. When we returned, the rear window on the Mustang coupe was completely shattered. The outside temperature was moderate, not too hot or cold. It was just plain glass since those were the days before electric heated wires in the glass. It was just one of those things, I guess. However, still married to my wonderful wife!

IDK at the 0.04-0.05 fames in slow motion. Time 09:00:21 to 0:9:00:22 It looked like something hit it and bounced off. Or it was a piece of the glass popping off and falling on the cover?

if i had to pay for it i would just get a non slider but the glass coverage in my insurance policy that would cover it

So with the Wife and the Mustang i guess you proved you can have your cake and eat it too. :) My first car was a 68 Mustang.

Yes, the 67-68 Mustangs were definitely my favorite models followed closely by the 1969 Mach One. We kept our Mustang until 1974 when we ordered a 351 Cobra Jet Mercury Cougar. By that time, the Cougar had become an intermediate size personal luxury vehicle. We needed something with a larger trunk space since the Mustang and Challenger were too small.

Definitely glass fell off.

I have an appointment tomorrow to get it replaced at Safelite. All theses companies are super busy in my area...

After it's fixed, I'll work with RAM to determine if the 3rd brake leaks. I DM'd RamCares and they suggested working with a dealer about it and then keep them posted on what they do. We will see where it goes but I'm not holding my breathe that I'll get reimbursed.
