Any idea why my tuck is so intense when starting up ?

I have a video but can’t post it

Can you describe what you are referring to? I have complained about the high idle on cold starts. My truck idles around 1700 rpm's on cold starts. Lasts about a minute and then starts to come down. Seems to be the norm on the 2025's. My truck is a Laramie with the hurricane motor.

Upload it to you tube then post that link to here.

When I first start it , it’s very rough and high idling like it sounds like it’s revving and sounds horrible . Idk if it’s the hurricane motor thing but was just wondering if it’s normal , after a few moments it goes to normal .

The cold start is the one thing I am not impressed with in regards to my truck. When I had my hemi, you got the V8 rumble on start up and it sounded like a truck. With the hurricane motor, it's a not so pleasant sounding high rev with one quick stumble about 20 or 30 seconds in, then continues to idle high and starts to calm down after about a minute or so. From the video, it's hard to tell. In the video, yours sounds a little bit more lawnmower-ish than mine but it could just be the video. Best I can do is describe what mine does and say that mine falls under what is considered normal for the truck.

Our Jeep GW w/ the HO Hurrican does not sound like this on start-up. Almost sounds like leaf blower, my guess is something in the exhaust is vibrating.

The clicking sound is the high pressure fuel pump. In my experience they are not normally that loud. It’d be worth showing that video to your dealership to get their opinion if the truck is still under warranty. If that pump fails, or loses pressure during operation (the hurricane runs really high injection pressure), it could be very bad for the engine.

OP, sounds like you need to take a trip to the dealership to let them look at it. Keep us posted.

I have had the exact same noise since I bought it with 5 miles. The dealer brought me the vehicle running and already hot so I couldn't notice it. The vehicle makes that noise when cold or cold starts and within a minute it stops making it, including changes in revolutions. Strange for a new car. I have taken it several times to the warranty and it takes weeks to get it. I rented a car and the warranty paid for it. They didn't know where the noise was coming from. They used a stethoscope to see where the noise was coming from and determined it was the alternator. It was ordered and replaced. The vehicle still have the same noise and I took it back and they kept it for a week, they did a re-flash on the computer. The next day in the morning the same noise. The warranty responds but I still have the noise. They say it's normal but it's a really unusual and loud noise.

Mine has 11,000 miles and I’ve noticed the same noise not as loud as yours but Ive had the truck since 800 miles and I didn’t notice it so much at first but I feel like it gets louder as the miles go up
