I have a 22 Bighorn with a factor installed roll-up tonneau cover. I live 5 miles off payment down gravel. Regardless, the amount of dust that covers everything in my bed is unreal. Is this what others experience or do I have a leak?

I think that most tonneau covers also aren't sealed well up near the cab either. You could buy a seal kit or improvise your own, but I agree with PurpleRT - the bed is made to carry things, not keep them pristine clean. If I were constantly on gravel roads, I think that I would try to seal up the bed but think that it would be difficult to keep it all out.

Keep the tonneau cover open when driving on gravel and your bed won't get as dusty. With the tonneau, it creates basically a vacuum in the bed and it just sucks the dust in

There are giant gaps between the tailgate sides and bed that are going to let dust in regardless of how much you seal the tonneau cover. You can try getting a moving blanket or something to block the sides and bottom of the tailgate.

Nothing is going to prevent dust from getting into the bed with a tonneau cover. The more you try to seal the bed, the bigger the vacuum is created in the bed.

It'll still cut down on the dust if done right. It might create higher pressure areas because of smaller gaps, but it reduces the amount of air/dust exchanging. Basically acts as a really thick air filter.

Its a pick up truck bed… its not meant to be completely sealed the best you can do is get a tailgate seal kit off amazon and seal around the tailgate but don’t expect it to ever be completely seal

I get that. Thanks for the input. I have driven pick ups since mid 80s but this my first RAM and I thought it looked much dustier then it should,

That's good advice if this is the norm. It is my every day driver whether on a logging road or going to dinner or a trip, so I often have luggage in the back or things that I want to keep clean as possible. Thank you.

I have a BedRug XLT with the attached tailgate cover and combined with a roll up tonneau cover the dust intrusion is greatly reduced. The attached tailgate rug completely seals on the bottom of the tailgate and the rest seals nicely along the side gaps when closed. It’s sealed very well. I drive on a lot of gravel roads and this combination has easily been the best for me.

Sounds like you might want to get something else for the times you want to haul luggage around and keep it clean. It's one of the reasons we bought our Grand Cherokee. The Ram is for times when I need to use a truck and the GC has taken over as the grocery getter/other uses.

Thank you very much. That sounds like what I need.
