Vehicle lift damage

I did a search but did not find any results for what I am looking for…
I’m wondering if anyone has experienced any damage to their side rails (step rails, nerf bars, rock guards & etc) or damage to body panels from a shop using the vehicle lift?
Also are the lifting points on the truck frame in a good spot to avoid damaging anything?
I can just imagine an oil tech or other techs not really paying attention or even caring about it…

I getting ready in install some after market step rails and for some reason I just happened to think of this...

Competent shops shouldn't do any damage, considering many trucks run step rails automated/static.
