USB media drive suddenly not working

I have a usb thumb drive with about 2200 songs on and it’s been in the truck for about a year now working just fine. The other day I jumped into the truck and discovered it only shows two songs on the drive. Anyone else seen this. Not sure what could have changed to suddenly cause this, system update? Anyone else seen this?

If you plug the drive into a computer are the files still there? The thumb drive may be going bad.

Oh. I'm sure he checked for that before posting.
I'll bet he also tried a different thumb drive to see if that worked.
You know; common sense stuff.
We'll probably never know....

Sorry for not including those details. Files are all there and work on my PC. Don’t have another drive the same size but doesn’t seem to like any drive. Also tried the USB next to it and no difference. Didn't know if some update went out over the last week and created an issue.
