There have been several people who have successfully got a factory 5th gen 12" radio functioning after purchasing them from a wrecker, RAM parts providers, or on line radio vendor, however there is no bezel solution yet so you have to fab something up yourself. I've yet to see an attempt that looks finished at the top. Ebay and car-part.com are good places to check for used models, and there are a few forum sponsors that can help with new.
There are a few aftermarket Android 12" units that are a direct bolt in from companies like phoenixautomotiveinc and are a direct bolt on. The Phoenix option moves flashers and a few other buttons to the top where the pen holder is now, but it's hard to see in most pics. Never used one myself.
One other possible wrinkle is that RAM is expected to be bringing new radio hardware and software summer 2021 referred to as Uconnect 5. Two of the features that have me waiting at the ability to connect two phones at the same time and wireless android auto/apple car play.
