Updates from my 5th Gen Ownership

Hey guys I'm a new 5th gen owner and I'm actually a Salesman at Johnson Dodge Chrysler Jeep Ram in Budd Lake, New Jersey. I just traded in my 2014 Ram 1500 Outdoorsman hemi crew cab for a new 2021 Ram 1500 Laramie hemi etorque crew cab 5’7” bed today in Billet Silver. My '14 had Mopar Bilstein leveling kit and 35" Duratracs on Level 8 17" wheels but the new one is the Off-Road Group so will be left alone for awhile at least. It's also a Night Edition with 3.92's, Bed Utility Group, Laramie Level 2, Power Running-Boards, 12" Uconnect and Trailer Brake-Controller, Mopar Rubber Mats, Rear Wheelhouse-Liners and Trailer Brake-Controller. I really wish it had the 33 gallon tank like my old truck but there were none out there so I had no option but settle for the 23. I had a DeeZee toolbox(DZ8170B) and Access Toolbox Roll-Up Cover installed at my shop as I loved my Access Lorado on my old truck. The only thing I'm not sure what I want to do with is adding better reverse lighting for trailering my boat at night. I had a 13" LED mounted on a 144LV Back Rack on the previous truck but won't be adding a Back Rack to this one. The cab light's seem to suck on the new one and I don't think the Mopar LED Cargo swap from the Tech Package will add enough light for what I want. It doesn't look like there's any Cab Light LED bulb upgrades available for the '21 Laramie's either that wont' mess with the key fob. If anybody has any ideas for this let me know? Are there any good LED reverse light upgrades available for this truck as well? I had the Headlight Revolution 1000 Lumen LED reverse bulb upgrades in the 2014 but don't see them for the 2021? Also if I can help anybody out with a new Ram or any other FCA brand vehicle let me know!

Thanks but I have seen that and it won't be high enough for what I need to shine over the boat when it is on the trailer. This is how my old truck was setup.

The factory LED headlights are definitely awesome. I wish the reverse lights were up to par. Hopefully someone will offer an option like the 1000 lumen bulbs I had from Headlight Revolution.

Hmm, since there is no good option for the cargo lights and a new back rack is out, what about adding some flush light stips to your toolbox?

I was also looking for reverse lights for a 2020. They are hard to find on the website, but before they changed the site a little, GTR reverse lights were on there. Call HR they will point you in the right direction. I have not bought them yet myself. With all the snow on the ground the standard backups work ok. Ill probably order them this spring unless they are no longer available for the 5th gen. I just checked them out, Type in #7440 on the search bar, a bunch of GTR bulbs come up, the reverse lights are the 3rd option.

I’m thinking maybe flush mounting these LED flood lights into the back of the toolbox if they’ll fit. I’d prefer them to turn on when I turn on the cab light if possible?

After a lot of spit balling I ordered a 30” light bar with the right dimensions to mount on the face of the toolbox.

I got the 30” LED light bar in today and the wiring harness but the last piece I’m waiting on will take about a week for the wireless remote harness for the light. The light will be a little more flush to the box with the DeeZee emblem removed when I mount it too. You can see my Viking rod rack mounted under the toolbox too.

Just an update today at 13,000 miles I swapped out the stock Falken Wildpeak AT3WA’s in 275/55R20 with Falken Wildpeak AT3W’s in 275/65R20. Zero modifications and no rubbing. They should’ve come this way stock!

Just an update today at 13,000 miles I swapped out the stock Falken Wildpeak AT3WA’s in 275/55R20 with Falken Wildpeak AT3W’s in 275/65R20. Zero modifications and no rubbing. They should’ve come this way stock!
