I bought the Tuffy box for my Rebel. It works well enough, but has several negatives, in my opinion.
It's thin cheap metal. I could break into it with a big screwdriver or small crowbar pretty easily. For the cost (when I was looking, they were over 400 bucks delivered) I would expect something a little sturdier.
It fit under the rear seat perfectly on the rebel. I didn't have to trim or remove any floor mats or anything, and it was easy to install. It comes with several keys so I had one on my keyring and one stashed elsewhere in the truck in case I didn't have the keyring with me.
I'd be MUCH happier with it if the short door was on the passenger side and the wider/longer door was on the drivers side. There's no quick and easy way to get a full size rifle in and out of the box from the rear drivers side door because of the stupid brace across the middle of it, a quarter of the way in. If that was on the other side it would be easy to quickly open and pull a rifle out. As it is now, I have to go around to the passenger side and open that one to be able to pull a full size rifle out. Even a 16" barrel AR with M4 stock collapsed all the way down, the angle doesn't allow it to come out on the drivers side opening. Stupid. This is my biggest complaint on it.
I'd much rather have something that I could quickly deploy a rifle from, rather than having to fight with it or go to the passenger side to get it out. Sometimes, that extra 15 or 20 seconds is the difference in getting your bear or coyote or not getting a shot off.
I sold my Rebel and bought the smaller rear cab space Bighorn, and kept the box to put in it. They say it won't fit and it doesn't bolt right in, but I made simple little flat iron brackets and it bolted right into the original seat holes like it did on the Rebel. It DOES take up all the foot space so if you have rear seat passengers it probably isn't a good idea, but the dogs are all that ride back there and they don't mind. I also had to remove the rear floor mats to make it work. I could have just trimmed them to fit, but I don't mind just taking them out.
Knowing those limitations hopefully helps you choose. It's the best option I could find for a semi-secure and out of view in-the-cab rifle storage location, so I still bought it. I don't keep a rifle in it anymore though as I put a McWelco in the bed and it's much more secure and quicker to get to it. I do still keep a pistol and my FFL paperwork and some ammo and spare stuff like a handful of electronics and spare clothes, and envelope full of cash in it as it is a good storage space...it just isn't good for a rifle for my needs.
If you're not worried about security, then I would heavily lean towards that plastic box setup you have shown there, with slots for rifle storage. I may actually look into that too as it would suit my needs better. It looks like there's room for some ammo and a layer of cold weather clothes underneath where they'd sit as well.
ETA: Damn, they only make one for the crew cab. Guess I'll stick with my quad cab modified tuffy for now. I have thought about just cutting that center brace out, it would solve my problem. Look on the website linked above, for the picture with the shotgun in it. You'll see what I mean about the cross brace being in the way of removing the gun from the drivers side.
