Uconnect not returning to previous function

Hey folks, have looked but not found anything similar to this issue. Sorry if this has been posted.
I am having an issue with my uconnect, if I’m listening to media and get a call or have the system read a message, when I X out of those functions, the system will return to a random function and not the media I had been on. Could be climate control, apps page, etc. Should specify, 8.4 with nav.
Does anyone know how to make it go back to where it was? Thanks.

Mine doesn’t do that , if I get a call or a text the screen goes to split screen right away . Whatever I had the screen on will go to the bottom and the phone goes to the top .
