Uconnect 4 to 5

Hey all!

I’ve finally decided to upgrade my 8.4” uconnect4 to the 12” uconnect 5 in my 2019 rebel.


I sourced the infotainment unit from a local wrecker for a great price with the control module.

Before I go ahead and purchase the wiring harness and obd programmer I was wondering if anyone had information on the uconnect 5 12” unit in regards to the pinout, I want to confirm it’s fully working so I’m planning on voltage injecting 12v to confirm it powers on and the screen works as should.

If anyone has done anything similar and has a connect to either the wiring harness or obd programmer as well I’d appreciate it ! I’d rather support an enthusiast.

Did you ever get this figured out? I recently made an account to learn how to do this because my 8.4” is freezing and resetting multiple times per day.

I lose all hvac control, back up camera, everything. At first it was once or twice a month but the frequency has increased and the truck is quickly becoming unusable.

Did you find the harness and everything necessary to make the swap?
