What exactly does the active air dam do?
If I unplug it, I assume the grille shutter continues to work?
If the grill shutter still works, does it cycle when the truck is first started.
I read something about a letter saying the warranty was extended for this issue...is that letter available online somewhere?

Come on guys, I know this has all been discussed before, but I cannot find where it says exactly what the dang this is good for? If we can unplug it without concern or issues, why is it there to begin with?

How difficult is it to get to the harness to unplug it? I'd like to try that and reset the light and see if it stays off. The dealership can't even get me in for over a month just to look at it.

My first 2021 RAM had AAD and my current one does not. Basically the same truck and if anything I'd expect my current Laramie to be a little worse on mpg. First truck had terrible gas mileage and this one isn't bad. It may work on paper but in practice there are other assembly variables that...

I have a Ram 1500 Big Horn 4x4 Crew Cab. I do not have the active Air Dam... just the permanent front hanging one. I do a lot of highway driving, so gas mileage is a concern for me. I might install an active one if it would make a difference. This was a factory delete but not because of an air...

Could someone kindly point me to any available YouTube videos or threads on here demonstrating how to remove the 2019+ active air dams without error codes or whatever? TIA!

Thanks for the links! I have the air dam unplugged now, the plug taped up and taped up to the frame. Hopefully tomorrow O Reilly will reset the code and we will see if it stays off.

AAD doesn’t really do anything. The AGS will continue to work without it. Once the code it cleared you’ll be good. That’s exactly what I did.
