So am I understanding correct, that the right side of the phone holder pad doesn't have the charger behind it. I ask because I want to set a furrion camera there but the ram owners Manuel said somewhere not to set metal stuff like key fob on the phone charger pad

Correct. The charging pad is only on the left side, so you should be good.
