Just a matter of time before Sergio Marchionne starts showing the door to those top RAM execs who assured him SHAP could get the job done. He took a calculated risk, based on their input, to become the #2 sales leader behind the F150. Had they ( him included ) shown a little patience and restraint by delaying this launch until late Summer, they could have ensured availability of everything advertised for this new model and still launched ahead of Chevrolet. They may not have displaced Chevrolet but they sure could have let them know, "We are coming for you"! Then, next year, complete the mission and become #2.

Yes, more patience (listen to me talk about patience:ROFLMAO:) on FCA’s part could have gone a long way here. I’m obviously not a top paid auto exec, marketer, or designer here but it just seems Ram has the truck now to go a long way up the sales chart if they would do it correctly. I don’t consider myself a fanboy but IMO there are only two truck brands, Ram and Ford. I have had a few of both and like both. I have only had one Chevy (an ‘86 back in the day) and it was a decent truck but I am just not a GM fan at all. Have never liked their interior or exterior looks among other things. I really think the new Ram could easily take the #2 spot and who knows, eventually take a run at the F150, depending on what Ford comes up with over the next couple of years. Lookin back now, maybe Ram should have waited and let GM reveal their 2019 first, since IMO it is a joke, and then reveal theirs about now or July and maybe that would have given them more time to be ready for this launch. Who knows? Is what it is now. Just my two cents for what it’s worth!:sneaky:

I get your point and agree except that if RAM had not announced when they did I would probably be driving a new F150 right now. I also would have paid more and not gotten RamBoxes, eTorque, a much better stereo, cooled rear seats, etc.
I'm very happy that RAM announced when they did and I knew when I ordered to expect an August delivery. I'm just guilty of wanting it early..

Another thought - I'd always buy products in this order:
1. Engineered and built the best, best purchase experience
2. Engineered and built the best, poor purchase experience
3. Poor eng/build, best purchase exp
4. Poor eng/build, poor purchase exp

I always go for the best engineered, best built product because I will live with it for years. The purchase process is short term and I will forget about it. The 2019 RAM is so much better than anything else on the market, there is no #1 option as above.

Good point, I too was looking very hard at the F150. Just hate too see the launch of such a well designed, techno advanced, and hopefully reliable truck overshadowed by other issues.

I can understand where you are coming from but I'm in the same boat as Edwards above. I just ordered my new Ram two weeks ago and will be trading in my F150. If Ram hadn't announced it early then I'd be in another new F150. I too am impatient but from my point of view they have done what they've said. General ordering in Q1 , which they hit. Ram boxes, ETorque, Off-Road group, other select features are a future launch. From what I heard it was initially going to be fall but that seems to be ahead. Don't get me wrong, I wish the roll out would have been perfect but I don't think they have failed it. Just my two cents.

I disagree. If Ram had waited to launch the 2019, I'd be in a Ford right now. There is nothing "out there" that I'm interested in; I can't say I wish I had ___________. The truck I got is perfect and it has everything I want, and nothing I don't.
