TRX Shifter swap

you need to read codes with jscan or alfaobd, all modules to see what isn't happy.
you can't go by the warning lights on the dashboard to tell you what is incorrect.
did you change "shifter type" in the BCM vehicle settings?
Hmm. I bought Alfa OBD. I am going to try this again. The only question I have is, would the fact that it is a TRX Shifter be an issue? Since the TRX has a different transmission?

I am going to try this again on Sunday. Since this will make or break whether I keep the truck, or trade it in for a newer Sport GT. I will take photos so you can tell me where I went wrong.
Thanks.

shifter should work, you just have to configure the BCM correctly.
and this is where you really need a factory truck config to copy the settings from. you can try to guess at them and you might get lucky, but its tricky.
assuming its wired correctly you for sure need to configure the "SHIFTER TYPE" in the BCM.
then start reading codes, and see what kind of errors are reported, and then you can start chasing them down one by one until you get a "green light"

TRX / console shifters have been done, it will work.
So have TRX paddles/steering wheels.

Please take lots of pictures when you do yours.
This might eventually be on my list of things to do in my 22 Limited. I already have a TRX wheel and paddles shifters and my TCM has an GT firmware on it already. I don't even use the extra space the console has as it's awkwardly sized imo.
So we could just add the paddle shifters without the shifter ?

I am in the process of doing this swap on a 22 limited. Went with a trx shifter and a g/t sport dash 4x4 switch. Since the trx console is already wired for the shifter I went with a floor console extension harness off ebay which is the same as info tain ment offers. I then plugged that into the dash side and console side but depinned that extension harness for the 5 wires to run up to the original dash dial selector. From there I used positaps to connect the 5 needed (minus the 6th ground since already in console/dash harness). For the 4x4 selector on any of the non-gear selector versions it is a different harness plug which is the same as the led footwell lamps in most dodge which I stole my sons 2012 charger one and then positapped into the 3 wires to convert it. Now nothing works as in the shifter and the 4x4, I get an error message on the cluster for service shifter and service trailer brake. I changed the bcm config shifter style to the 5 pos polystable e shifter (PS5) but that did not help. For now, I suppose I will be verifying connections but figured I would share.

part number for the 4 pin harness plug on all non dial shifter 4x4 switches is 68490847AA

Here is my wiring routing:
Dial gear selector to trx/gt shifter console harness
Pin 1 rd/ye to pin 13
Pin 6 wh/og to pin 15
Pin 7 wh/bn to pin 16
Pin 8 ye to pin 10
Pin 9 gy to pin 9
Pin 10 bk (ground did not need)

4x4 buttons:
12pin stock to 4 pin gt/trx/rebel/2500
Pin 5 bk to pin 2
Pin 6 og to pin 1
Pin 7 rd/ye to pin 4

I did resolve the trailer brake and shifter error ones from earlier just forgot to plug back in the trailer brake. as for the shifter error, I cleared the bcm/tcm codes and key cycled to resolve. shifter works and all gears function etc after testing. Manual shifting displays M1 on dash and on the heads up display. Will continue messing with settings once I get done swapping in the 12" gauge cluster.

Well after testing and i realized the auto start stop button is not doing anything, the other buttons work for 4x4 so trying to figure this one out. Will also try and figure out the drive modes for the gt sport buttons, but confused why the auto start doesnt work. Tried everything, hood closed, seat belt on and driving, the 3 requirements to disable enable it but nothing happens when button is pressed.

Maybe something is up with Tow/Haul Mode, which does cancel out AutoStart/Stop?
Is it shifting normally in A1-8 Mode?
