Truck thinks it is connected to a trailer…

I don’t have the time or patience to wait for 50 engineers to dry up some water. If that truck dinged at me one more time and told me I needed to check the trailer connection I was going to drive it off a cliff. Get out there and dig in!

I’ve had similar issue but it’s not caused by wet receptacles. I had a truck hitch light from my previous RAM (Illuminated RAM logo when braking) that connected to trailer electrical 4 pin connector). When connected the light to my 2025, the backup camera failed saying “Reverse camera disabled when connected to trailer.” I assume this means the BCM thinks a trailer is connected when a connector is inserted in the trailer receptacle. My 2021 RAM didn’t have this issue. I assume the programming logic is different in 2025 RAMs. TLDR, I can see why shorted wet connections cause an issue.

I’ve had this issue going on now for about 3 to 4 weeks just got my truck. It’s got around 1000 miles on it. I noticed it more after I put in a seven pen bed plug. I called Kurt, as that’s what I got the plug from they said to check the connections which I had done. It’s a plug-in play harness, and it would still happen. I would put the brake on and a blinker and then I would get trailer lamp alarm check connection after reading some forms and so forth I decided to try and put LED bulbs in the tail lights, thinking that the wattage was the problem come to find out it was not the problem . Took it into the dealership and apparently ram told them that there’s a bulletin out on it. They know of the problem. They believe it’s a software issue and they’re gonna be coming out with a update on it so we’ll see what happens.

Same exact issue with my 2025 1500 Big Horn. I hauled a trailer with a light out 3 weeks ago and it still constantly gives me the trailer light out message, indicator that I'm pulling a trailer(I'm not) and blind spot warning.
I had exact same issue 2025 1500 Laramie. Less than 1000 miles, but cleared itself after 3 days. It happened again at 4000 miles. Was able to get it to dealer before it cleared. They found it was a faulty 7prong plug receptacle. Replaced no further issues!!

I have 2025 RAM Trades. 2WD with 3500 miles, I encountered the same issue after hardwiring an LED tailgate strip light. This message appeared, and I'm not sure what to do next. If I took it to dealership will this void my warranty?

Just purchased a 2025 ram 1500 tradesman with the factory installed trailer brake controller. Currently have about 1800 miles on it. This morning it decided it was pulling a 20ft trailer according to the dash lights. My rear park sense turned off, there are trailer light and blind spot warnings happening every few seconds. Just to clarify the truck is not hooked up to anything. I’ve already gone through as many connections as I can find and check that they were properly seated. While doing so went ahead and hit them with electro wash just to clean anything that may be in there out. No luck so far. Is this happening to anyone else?
I just purchased the 2025 Ram rebel today.. We left a lot in about 3 mi later we stopped to get something to eat.. let me got back in the truck and trying to tell me I'm pulling a 20 foot trailer and it probably has 10 mi on the truck I think. They detailed it before I drove it off the lot but it wasn't doing this until We got back in to leave
