Just purchased a 2025 ram 1500 tradesman with the factory installed trailer brake controller. Currently have about 1800 miles on it. This morning it decided it was pulling a 20ft trailer according to the dash lights. My rear park sense turned off, there are trailer light and blind spot warnings happening every few seconds. Just to clarify the truck is not hooked up to anything. I’ve already gone through as many connections as I can find and check that they were properly seated. While doing so went ahead and hit them with electro wash just to clean anything that may be in there out. No luck so far. Is this happening to anyone else?

That’s the blind spot trailer length detection, and a trailer doesn’t need to be hooked up for it to detect what it thinks might be a trailer behind the truck. Was there a vehicle following close behind you?

Jimmy07,
No, there was nothing behind me. It happens while I’m driving and also just when I start the truck in my driveway.

It also says check trailer light out check trailer connection and check trailer turn lamp.

Same exact issue with my 2025 1500 Big Horn. I hauled a trailer with a light out 3 weeks ago and it still constantly gives me the trailer light out message, indicator that I'm pulling a trailer(I'm not) and blind spot warning.

Let us know what your dealer says about this if you could.

I purchased the vehicle in anchorage Alaska, and live in Kodiak Alaska . The ferry to get off the island we live on isn’t running anymore until April of next year. So getting to a dealer won’t be possible for awhile.

Worth trying the ol’ disconnect the battery for a few minutes and then reconnect to see if the problem still exists could just be one of those electronic gremlins.

Tried that yesterday, ended up with a check engine light and a bunch of new codes.. 🤦‍♂️

Have had this truck a month and the exact same thing has happened. Did you ever get a fix?

@fedup25 - No fix yet, problem has changed from everytime I drove my truck to intermittent now. Which makes getting a shop to see it even more of a challenge. I actually pulled a trailer for the first time yesterday and everything seemed to work, just kept getting the trailer light out notification.

I have a 2025 Ram Laramie & my truck just now started doing the same thing. Happened 1 time last week and this morning. I tried calling dealership and they have no clue as to why it is doing it (typical).

This same exact thing just started happening to my 25 Ram 1500. It is intermittent, I’ve noticed the really cold days it does it more frequently. Also my screen has been going blank and restarting. Anyone find a fix for this yet?

I have a 25’ 1500 limited that I purchased in October of 24’. I began having this problem right after I bought the truck. I noticed it would come and go but it always happened after going through the carwash. After some digging I noticed that when I opened the small doors that cover the plug receptacles I had small amounts of water in there. Use a paper towel and get that water out of there or use an air compressor if it is nearby. The problem goes away for me every time. I’m hoping Ram comes up with a permanent fix. Hope this helps.

It just started happening to me too. 2025 Ram Rebel with only 1,700 mi on it. It keeps telling me there's a trailer light out when there's no trailer connected to it. And then it tells me I'm hauling a 20-ft trailer again. I'm not hauling anything. If anybody comes up with a fix please post. I'm taking it to the dealership this Friday.

My question is, why does our community find the solutions to those minor issues before the authorised RAM service-licenced professionals?
