Was just driving down the road the truck dash lit up like a Christmas tree. Thing started going crazy and died. Wouldn’t start back up. I sat for around 10 mins and was able to get it started. All kinds of service warning messages. Also stuck an ODB diag reader on it and got code U1428! Ugh, 1300 miles and it’s running like hell. Off to the dealer it goes.

Sorry to hear. Communication code “U”. Sounds like a module went off line. Sure it will be resolved quickly. Something like that would think a engineer will likely come out or go online(communicate)with your truck.
What ever the case, keep us informed.

That sucks man. Sorry to hear. Good luck.

I have some videos of the dash and of the Radio. That totally went nuts. Doesn’t do anything. Climate can only be set set to hi or lo, no seat controls, no Sirius, no nada. Thing is totally going haywire.

That's crazy. Good luck.

Sucks to hear this happened.

I have no real idea what happened, but comparing this to a few others and my 25 years owning Dodge and Ram trucks...it seems like we are back to the 80s and the grounds aren't being properly installed. A few other members have said tightening their grounds helped.

And i say this as just a few weeks ago I had to charge the battery in my 03. I had unhooked the ground and positive cables. I didnt properly tighten the cables. Was driving down the road and turned on the lights and wham...everything started going nuts...lights flashing, clicking sounds, everything just going crazy.

Pulled over tightened the ground and truck hasn't done it since.

Not saying this is the problem, but if you have time...tighten all the grounds...maybe even make sure they removed enough paint under them.

Another member did just this and his issue went away.

Ground issue is a positive target. Seems to be more a canbus situation. How ever I’m interested to see what Ram finds

Sounds like a plan. Where are all the grounds?
