truck bed storage options

This is my 1st pickup .....21 limited. What storage options do all of you use for the bed??any accessories for normal things that would be in a normal cars trunk....I don't want things sliding all around in the bed etc.....

I have a trunk organizer in there for smaller stuff. Also, get one if those long reach bars. I have a cover and this is a must.

I made my own cheap storage in the truck by buying couple of "Ratcheting Cargo Bars" and 3 Crates (mine are CleverMade boxes). Since my job doesnt entail carrying tools, etc so I didnt want to spend a lot of money on it. This setup has worked for me to store groceries, etc. and I can quickly take it all off if I need the entire bed for bigger items

A jobbox that fits under a tonneau cover or my ramboxes do the trick for me but in reality you can just get a few totes and a cargo bar or use the bed extender as a divider if you have that option.

I use the bed extender flipped over under my tonneau cover. Basically gives me a trunk-sized space where things won't slide around.

Heavy duty Rubbermaid container for smaller items bungee strapped to the hooks in the box behind the cab. Carries a tow strap, ropes, bungee straps, jumper cables, extra drop hitch, assorted wrenches and a first aid kit.

I use a couple of basic plastic bins and a ratcheting cargo bar to keep everything from sliding forward. The ratcheting bar was given to me years ago and the bins I get from work. I keep a tire compressor, tire plug kit, a bunch of retractable ratchet straps and my tow hitch accessories in the bin. Works great for me

I have Ramboxes. I don't need to have silly stuff sliding around in the bed of my truck. Tow straps, tie downs, jumper cables, air compressor, cleaners during the non-winter months.. Takeout also fits great in the Ramboxes and doesn't stick up the cab of my truck.

My DIY tool box stays on most of the time. Rest is dictated by the current "mission" on hand.

What items are you looking to secure? Many of the things you might want to store likely would fit in the storage unit under the rear seat, or the in-floor bins.

You can start at the basics, which is a heavy duty rubber mat, which will not only eliminate anything sliding around, but also protect more delicate stuff you stick in your bed, such as furniture. Especially important if you have the factory spray-in bedliner or similar Line-X, which has the consistency of sand paper.

You can then use whatever storage boxes you need, which won't slide around. However if you also need security, especially if you don't have a topper or tonneau cover, then a traditional truck tool box is a great addition. Even with the shorter crew cab bed, my low profile tool box doesn't prevent me from hauling large and tall stuff around, especially with the tail gate down.

I prefer this combination if you like an open bed setup. If I used a tonneua cover, I would just use some heavy duty plastic boxes from Walmart of Home Depot which I can remove easily if needed.

It's great, from the research I did it's better than their previous models, a few cons though,

1. Can freeze in cold snow weather.
2. Can hear rattling on aluminum slides with the rear sliding window open on bumps.
3. Rear tracks could have been trimmed as they have sharp corners, I took a dremel to it.
4. The rear plastic clips can come off, this can be remedied by bending the tabs and applying a dab of super glue.

I did not want a folding cover and retractable was my second option, I don't use my bed often so this looks and functions best for me. Its a little expensive, but I figured I buy once and not twice wasting money getting something I regret.
