Transmission gears

So I have a concern over the transmission, I have a 2019 RAM 1500 4x4 with a 5.7 Hemi. My concern is that my 8th gear kicks in at roughly 48-52 MPH. With that being said, once I hit 70 MPH, I’m at 2000 RPM. I think that is absurd for a V8. Does anyone else have this issue? Or does anyone know what I should do/check? Thanks in advance for your word.

2000 rpms might seem high, but funny enough it's extremely low for me. I come from a lifetime of owning only 6 bangers, the last being the pentastar 3.6. She was a great engine, smooth, quiet, but man did she love to rev. It wouldn't make any serious power until about 2700 rpms and I could always feel in my butt when it hit that spot.

My 5.7, it absolutely lives under 2000 rpms. Many weeks it never goes past that, and I can easily keep up to city traffic or whatever, so I'm not just feathering it either. Even entering on ramps etc, no need to go past 2100.

Your post reminded me of a Honda Civic Si that I used to own; it had a redline of 7,000 RPM stock, but modified cars would sometimes see 9,000. And it had VTEC, which meant all of the fun happened when it switched to a more aggressive cam profile above 5,800 RPM.

to the wanderer, 2000 rpm at around 70mph with the 5.7 and 3.92 rear is normal.

I also have the 3.92 rear axle, but I'm use to higher revving truck motors, so that 2,000 rpms actually seems low to me.
