Transmission bump?

How many miles? Mine got worse then got better. I made the dealer let me show the tech. I could at the time make it happen on demand. Around 1000 miles it was really noticeable. Since it's gotten smoother. I'll tell you they don't know what it is.
But I'm able to make it happen on demand as you describe. It seems to be worse when the engine isn't all the way warmed up yet as well.

Fair enough, if I really focus on it happening I think I think it's worse. I just hit 7700 an it's definitely not as bad as it was. Once everything is to operating temperatures sometimes it never happens at all. Other days I notice it more often, I can tie that to the driving style of the day. The road I take most often is 55mph. Depending on the day folks like to do 40mph. These trucks don't like 40mph. So I find myself having to let off the gas more often.

I'm sorry I have no definitive answers yet. I still believe it's something with the etorque. I'd just wait for whatever it is to break. (if it is something wrong and not just how the system works). Or inspect things often to see if you notice anything wearing to fast. I got a scan tool to monitor for codes that don't trip the dash light. I'll keep any updates posted.

that's actually a good idea about checking for codes that don't trigger a CEL. I've got a scan tool, I'm gonna do a quick scan just to check.

So I never got any codes doing that. I did get some codes for my uconnect stuff loosing connection. So I think I figured out one problem.

With this abs recall, I took the truck in to get my module flashed. Bad idea as it wouldn't except the new software. So now I gotta wait however many months for a part. Dash is lit like an Christmas tree now. The point of me bringing this up though is that after they tried to flash it. A lot of stuff went down. Like auto start/stop is now off, parking brake, esc. An the thump is back an worse. So it's possible this abs recall has something to do with it.

I also feel like my "thump" is getting worse. Specifically in the mornings and when ECO mode is active. I'm just letting it go though. I'm sure my dealer will say it's normal or they don't feel it. Once it gets real bad and can easily be identified I'll take mine in.

I've learned to go prepared. Anything I can use to prove something. I told them if they come out and tell you they can't replicate I'll be right here waiting to go with to show them. At the time I could make it do it on demand.

I honestly don't know what it could be. I got a few really good theories. It was worse the day of that abs mishap. Now it's back to it may do it it may not. When it does it's so light it's hard to tell it even did it. Could very well be linked to this abs situation.

I'm probably more upset that my dash is a Christmas tree now, because the flash didn't take. Then I found out a few days later they overfilled my engine by almost a qt of oil. I have to have them do an oil change every 5k for the lifetime powertrain warranty. Otherwise I'd do it myself.

The hurricanes have the etorque system?

FYI. He didn't say he had a Hurricane engine. He said he has a "2025 Dodge V6". The 3.6 V6 with eTorque is still available in 2025 and is the standard motor in some trims like the Tradesman.

I'm in the same boat! I'm glad it's just not me. My 4th Hemi but 3rd Ram with the Hemi. However my first with the etorque (2024 limited). I get that thud felt at around 1400 RPMs in 7th gear most of the time at around 45mph. Feels like a hard change of gears but doesn't change gears. Same exact situation. It's so aggravating. Love the truck.

Setting the max gear to 8 using the thump steering wheel switches also disables the MDS but doesn't change shift points and other variables like tow/haul mode does..
This works. I don't know why, but it does.

It works but if you need to do it to avoid a thud a better option might be to get the malfunction fixed. My last 2 Rams have MDS and I've never felt it engage or disengage.

the problem is no one knows the cause. I'm not convinced its the mds. I'm more inclined to believe its something to do with the etorque system/engine break. it doesn't have codes it can be replicated, but even full diagnostic's isn't showing the cause. there is a ton of variables. if the truck is at operating temps, it doesn't happen as often. some days it doesn't do it at all. so that could be the transmission constantly learning driving habits. though i may drive a specific way, when stuck behind someone I'm technically forced to drive at the speed they do. it seems folks love to push the gas let off push it let off push it let off you get the point lol.

so until a module comes out as the blame, or something breaks on my end there isn't a lot of options. I defiantly don't want it to sit at a dealer for months waiting for new parts. just to find out it still does it. the thud really is hard to notice for my truck. if I don't point it out to others in the vehicle they never notice. it really does feel like normal bumps in the road. I'd say it takes an obsessive compulsive mind to notice.

this is about exactly what I experience. it'll do it in lower gears though like around 30ish mph in town when folks are in front of me are constantly pressing the gas and letting off. I think its something etorque related. if I understand correctly the etorque starts charging when you let off the gas. this puts a load on the engine. so you feel a thud.
