I wasn’t a fan of the low profile tire / 22” rim combo, on top of that I live in Canada and so decent rubber is a must. In the purchase I was able to trade out rims to factory 20s and use the nearly brand new duratracs from my 14 that I traded in. Apparently MT tires for 22s are pricey and also have to be a lower profile. I’m 5’6” and levelling isn’t something I’d do to be able to put more rubber in the wells. They look like two totally different trucks, current setup makes me much happier.

Does it ride any different?
I was used to the ride from my 14, had duratracs from day one. BUT, rear end kicked out on an icy highway - yes, of course, but never in the 14. Not sure how that would be different. Very slight rub on the well when fully cranked, just a matter of avoiding that. One thing about duratracs is that they suck on wet roads, but winter is 100 percent better.

My sales guy showed me the wheel and tire comparison site, which is really cool by the way, and with 20s / more profile the setup is 1” taller. It took me a while to decide but in the end it worked out. There sure weren’t a lot of images online with the setup I wanted, so it was something of a shot in the dark.

I ordered a Laramie GT with out the night so I have the 20’s coming in. I really wanted 22’s but I have air ride so I guess I’ll see what it looks like when I get it in this month.

Definitely curious to see what that truck looks like. Air ride and trailer brake are the only two options that I don’t have. Mostly ok, the air ride system is sketchy in our crazy winters - but I do tow and so I guess I’ll swap out the mod one day.

With the way the roads are maintained I'll take the extra cushion the 20" rims offer over the thinner 22" rims.
