Like the title says, are the grey bumpers that come on the Tradesman paintable? Not being a auto body/paint expert, does the texture/material on these bumpers make them a better canidate for painting over the chrome bumpers?

No idea from me. But I will be painting my chromes soon. Plastidip. And from everything I have been researching, seems likely Plastidip woukd paint those bumpers just as easily.

But like You, i am not an expert on that stuff.

Also no expert, but I believe chrome bumpers actually require sandblasting to be done right. And yeah your bumpers are definitely paintable

I dented my rear bumper with my camper so I decided to bondo the dent and paint the rear bumper. I sanded the chrome and painted it with VHT Satin Black Epoxy All Weather Paint. I did this a few months back and the paint has held up well with no chipping or pealing. The Satin matches the plastic parts well.

Thanks for the feedback. I don't have the truck yet, I'm actually waiting for the "late availability" sport package on the Tradesman trim which comes with the painted bumpers. But I figured I would have a back up plan just in case.
