Trade This for a Ram?

@Electrical I didnt know you hadnt had one this whole time...

I was going to trade a 2015 WK2 Grand Cherokee, but didnt. Now its just sitting.

But its how much I loved that Jeep that brought me back to FCA with the Ram when I decided I wanted the bed now. And because I loved it, I kept it.

So to answer your question, I wouldnt trade it. If you loved it enough to stay FCA, I'd keep it! And also buy a Ram.

No I don't have one, 5G. I'm a 1 vehicle kind of guy... maybe I'm what they call a "minimalist" :geek:

What are your thoughts on the turning circle question below?

Jury is still out on that. I don’t dislike it. It functions fine. It makes the auto stop start much more tolerable than an F150. But considering the alternative in a Ram is no stop start at all, it gets complicated. I feel it makes the cylinder deactivion unnoticeable. But people will say it has nothing to do with that. One thing: don’t believe the BS that it adds towing. Most towing is limited by payload and the weight of the etorque actually lowers payload. With the 3.92 gears it makes the truck really launch off the line but I tend not to drive it that way. In fact I needed to learn to be slower to the pedal at first because it was jumping too much.

That makes sense, Dean. Thanks.

I looked up the turning circle for the Acura MDX and it's very close to my Durango at 37 to 38 ft. For AWD SUVs this is excellent and better than some full size 2WD sedans.

The crew-cab short-bed is 46 ft; huge difference. Do you feel hindered or annoyed by this? More 3-point turns... difficulty parking... etc?

The 360 camera makes parking a breeze. That being said, I did have to move things around in my driveway a bit to avoid extra turns. I am also more careful about destinations that involve parking garages. I see trucks in the city but I wouldn't try and drive one there. Then again, I wouldn't take something as big as an MDX into a city garage but people do. But this is my fourth truck so I am not really that concerned about the size of pickups. Just measure your garage before hand. It barely fits in mine and I had to mount a piece of foam insulation on the back wall to be able to pull all the way in and not damage the bumper.

I did it. Yup traded my Durango for my longhorn last October

You are thinking of buying an automobile, transportation. The question is, are you needing to swap, or wanting to swap. Has your life style changed?

I went from a ‘11BMW X3 to my then new ‘15 Ecodiesel Laramie trim. Loved the BMW absolutely a fine drivers car, bought a small boat so I traded for the truck.

Driving the truck took a bit of getting used to, after a few months was very comfortable driving a bigger automobile. My biggest get used to, was how far the blinker stalk was away when the high beams were active.

The available tech to today’s trucks makes parking them a breeze, and driving them a pleasure.

You are in a FCA product now so moving to a RAM will be easy for you if choose to.

If you haven’t, roll to your local dealer and drive a few of the different trims, and enjoy the experience.

I've traded or sold so many times and always end up in a truck. It is just my preference to drive them. Yes, I tow a camping trailer but even if I didn't, I would still drive a truck. The best one available now ( by a huge margin) is this Ram.

Thank you to everyone for the positive response and the motivation I needed. I sat down with a dealer today.

We optioned a Limited up to $68,250 per the online configurator and he quoted me $61,000 even.

Current cash incentive is $1,750, so $59,250 final price. That's 13.2% below MSRP and I'm happy with that.

But... ORG's on Limited's are on restriction; he said he'll call FCA Monday morning and then be able to tell me when it'll be lifted.

He also said orders are running about 6 weeks out and there are no restrictions on Hemi eTorque.
