I traded an Acura MDX. Same concept. Three row large mid size suv. The Ram is so much roomier, more luxurious, and nicer driving. It gets the same commuting mileage. Not quite as good highway but I have 3.92 gears. But my days of hauling a bunch of small kids around are over so holding 5 people is plenty. If you can give up the seats do it. Do you know what a pain in the *** it is to haul plywood on top of an SUV.

Oh no... a minivan... ?

It's a semi-luxo barge. Ram is a full-luxo barge.

Traded a Ford Exploder for a Ram. As long as you don’t need the 3rd row, make the trade. You will not be disappointed.

Dean, I see you have the Hemi eTorque... you're a happy camper with it then?

Thanks, NB. I'm afraid I'll miss all that interior space behind me; sounds like you did NOT.

I had a 2010, 1500 bighorn. Traded for 2012 Durango RT. Loved both but needed the extra space for family road trips. Durango has aged very well and would argue still has best interiors of any large SUV today. Had the Hemi so same motor as the 19 ram. I’m in the process of ordering a 19 1500 now and believe the interior looks like an evolution of my old Durango. To me now that my kids are getting older and can ride in the bench seat, I’m going back to the convenience of having a bed in the back and having more clearance for when I need it.

every Explorer I see is a cop car (n)

I had a black Sport and with the winter steel rims, it definitely did look like an unmarked police vehicle. Test drove a white sport before I bought it and literally had cars slow down and pull over for me on the highway. Local PD and RCMP run a lot of unmarked white ones.

Not really. I have no kids and the 3rd row was only used by my rottie. She loved it. My other dog took the second row... As for storage space - have the bed and tonneau cover which has a lot more room than the Exploder. There is also a lot of storage in the Ram - floor boxes, console, glove box, etc compared to the Exploder. Not sure how the Durango drives but there is no comparison in the ride quality with the Ram over the Exploder... Ram drives like a dream. If you have not test driven one yet, highly recommend you do.

Give the Durango to the wife? Ha. That’s what my wife has and I just ordered my 19’ Ram!

Jury is still out on that. I don’t dislike it. It functions fine. It makes the auto stop start much more tolerable than an F150. But considering the alternative in a Ram is no stop start at all, it gets complicated. I feel it makes the cylinder deactivion unnoticeable. But people will say it has nothing to do with that. One thing: don’t believe the BS that it adds towing. Most towing is limited by payload and the weight of the etorque actually lowers payload. With the 3.92 gears it makes the truck really launch off the line but I tend not to drive it that way. In fact I needed to learn to be slower to the pedal at first because it was jumping too much.

There's absolutely no shame in driving a soccer mom car.

I swear!:ROFLMAO::LOL:

My wife has a 2017 Durango R/T with all the bells and whistles and loves it. I just traded in my 2015 Charger R/T for my 2019 1500 Limited. I really like the truck, but I really miss my Charger!! I'd say if you don't think you'll miss the Durango then go for it.
