Hey all, I’ve gained a lot of insight from this forum and wanted to post so maybe someone else could be helped. Recently installed toyo open country atiii 305/45-R22 on 22x10 (-19 offset) wheels. I had to slightly trim aftermarket weathertech mudflaps, but no stock plastic trimming would have been necessary.
The noise from them (according to my observant wife) is “if anything quieter” than the stock tires. The ride quality hasn’t changed for better or worse and I am much happier with the extra width for the wider wheels. Thanks for all the information. C54C4BDC-263B-4B19-BD6A-7D6557FC6459.jpeg

These tires look great and I’m happy to hear that performance, noise, ride quality have all been great.

I’m interested in getting this exact tire (305/45/22) on my 9” OEM rims and have seen people on this forum running them. I’m curious though if anyone can help me understand why Toyo lists the recommended wheel size for this tire on their website at 9.5”+ but Discount Tires website seems to say it’ll fit on a 9” rim.

Thanks!

Recommended and acceptable are probably the differences.

I’ve got right at 40K on a set of the AT3’s on my Grand Cherokee. I’m down to about 7/32 tread depth left. My best guess is 50K max on these, even though they’re rated to 65K. No way they’ll go another 25K. I’ve got a set of AT2’s on a 4Runner with almost 60K on them and they are at 8/32. They are good for at least 70K. I had high hopes for the AT3’s being 3 peak rated and all, but IMO, overall I still prefer the AT2’s.

I’ve got them. 34s. Pretty happy overall. Does good in the rain (taking off can sometimes spin but I think it might be bc of oil that’s dropped on the road bc it doesn’t always do it except at stop lights). Quiet. Good dry traction. Look aggressive. Haven’t been in snow but in light mud it really slings it

Thoughts on speedo reprogram for this minimal of a size change (285/45/22 -> 305/45/22)?

And thoughts on sticking with the OEM spare after this change?

Do you think these would work okay on the stock 9-inch wide 22's?

These run great on my truck. Stock 22's 9-inch wide. So far I have been in Mud, snow, ice, a lot of rain, etc.. I see no issues except the impact on gas mileage that comes with most All Terrain tires.

It’s only like 2 MPH difference at 75-85MPH. I don’t care enough to reprogram. Just cognoscente of the difference when driving

Recently bought a USED 2020 Ram 1500 Laramie and the tires it came with were swapped "even-steven" (same stock size @ 275/65R/18) for some Toyo AT3s. The ride is like sitting on a magic carpet but the MPG has taken a slight tumble with the 5.7L HEMI. Posted highway limit of 70 mph but she wanted to constantly gravitate to 80!! I think I'll be using cruise control a lot more often with this new set-up. NO vibration issues, road noise was quite relaxing and hardly noticeable (even with the window down), and the truck drove like it was on rails. I could NOT be happier! (Advertised tire lifespan is 50k on these). I swapped over to TOYO on my older/ heavier Ram a few years back and have remained a happy camper with that set-up which precluded this recent "upgrade".

Beautiful looking truck. Did you have to lift or level it before upgrading to 305’s?

I put a set of 33x12.5x18 Toyo AT3’s and Fuel Rebel (+1 offset) wheels on my 2022 Rebel day after I bought it. Only a couple hundred miles on them but they have been great. Super quiet and sure footed. Will update but definitely recommend so far. (BTW have a complete set of Night Edition take offs for sale if anyone is interested.)

I did not! However, the wheels are -19 offset (but an inch wider than stock). I only had to trim the aftermarket mudflaps a tad. Otherwise, no trimming would have been necessary. @Domt1775 has them on stock wheels and can provide more insight on rubbing/trimming with his set up.

Thanks. I am waiting for @Domt1775 to get back from his trip to respond.

Have Toyo AT3 305/45/22 on stock rims, after 13K miles in the North East they have performed very well on dry, wet, snow covered pavement, dirt roads, grass fields and ice storms. I run them at 40 PSI and have zero road noise. only complaint is they seem to wear fast and I will be surprised if I get to 40K before having to replace.
