This one is for people that tow with bigger tires, eco-diesel, and the 3.21 gearing.

I’m in need of new tires and I’m thinking about going to a 34 inch tire with a level. I have a 2022 crew cab eco-diesel with a 3.21 gearing and I tow an RV that weighs about 4,700 pounds (5,500 loaded). My truck is rated at between 7,900-8,100lbs towing.

If you have a similar truck and tow with it, I’m curious about real world data. Are you happy with bigger tires and towing or would you rather have stayed with the smaller stock tires? Thank you for your help.

Unless you're moving up to super heavy mudders I doubt you'd feel a difference. The ED has lots of low end torque.

If you are going to haul and tow, the leveling will be your problem, not the tires so much.

So you're towing with it now, and your stock tires are what, about 33"? Going to 34" is only about 3%, so if it's okay now you probably won't notice a difference. If it's borderline now, it will be only a little worse.

So that's more like 6-1/2%, adjust expectations accordingly. You might need to be a bit more patient on steep grades. I'm on gasoline with 3.92 gears, so can't draw too many parallels, but I've towed bigger things with my Dakota in its heyday.
