Hey folks, FNG here. I just purchased a new 2021 1500 Larime w/ 5'7" bed and am looking for a tonneau cover that comes with (or can be fitted with) a rail system to haul bikes/gear on top of the cover. I'm partial to the flip-up style covers myself (had a modified bakflip MX4 on my last Ram...pic attached) but most of what I see out there is the retractable kind which I have no experience with (see links below). Do y'all have anything that you really liked or has worked well for this type of configuration? Thanks!

Note that the Line-X cover is made by Retrax, so it’s just a rebranded Retrax XR.

Pace Edwards also makes the Ultragrove, another retractable cover with t-slot rails.

I’m not aware of a folding cover with rails, but if you can’t find one, you might be able to rig a system using separate rails. Front Runner sells some (search for universal rails), which require drilling. I have not used them.

Front Runner also sells rails for Diamondback covers if you like that style. I think you can order the cover/rail combination straight from Diamondback.

I use a Retrax XR and am happy with it.

Turns out there is a folding rack with a T-slot rack, the BAKFlip CS. It looks like it comes with a ladder rack. I wonder if you could get the track without the rack?

Love my DiamonBack HD cover but they are on the high side of cost.

These are the DiamondBack bike carrier attachment. Perhaps they can be made to work with another cover.

I do not carry bicycles but a fellow DiamondBack owner does and is very happy with it.

I agree the HD diamond back cover is wicked cool, I have the SE Version, didn't want to top off the 2000 price tag for the HD, all I carry on top is a bike and Kayak.

I use a lomax tonneau and the adarac aluminum pro rack. Can fit 4 kayaks up there. Probably fit that many bikes. Take the uprights off when don't need. They work great together.

Update......I ended up going with a retrax pro xr cover (which took about 6 weeks to deliver!) paired with a rhino rack system, and am happy with how it all turned out.

Good choice, looks great.

What are the bins in your bed? Do they integrate with the BUG rails?

That's exactly what I am looking for. Thanks for posting the pictures.

They are just some husky bins from home Depot. There's a ratcheting load bar behind them to keep them in place. Helps keep the groceries from rolling all over the back of the truck.

Is the Gladiator Tonneau cover from the Diamond back company or a separate company in its own? Do you have the link as to where you purchased it and was it easy to install with the Ram Boxes

My brain wasn’t working correctly or I had russel Crowe on the brain …mine is the Diamondback…I have since corrected my post….I got it straight from Diamondback….very simple to install. The rails are simple if you make a template that can be used for each side so they are exactly the same from the edges. Definitely easier to install rails once the cover is on the truck.

I will keep that in mind and make a template for sure. Thanks for the reply.
