TomTom Map Loading Failure — Recurring Issue on 12" Display (2026 RAM 1500 Limited Longhorn)

Hi everyone —

I purchased a 2026 RAM 1500 Limited Longhorn a few weeks ago. Within two days, I started experiencing several system issues:

1. The home screen intermittently failed to load TomTom maps on the 12" display (see attached pic).
2. Navigation was locked to my home address, making it unusable.
3. The HUD was stuck showing the home address (per the master tech, it was apparently tied to the nav issue).
4. The compass displayed “--” instead of a direction.

The dealer initially claimed to have fixed these issues, but they returned within 48 hours. Eventually, the dealership replaced the entire vehicle with another of the same trim. The replacement truck ran perfectly for ~two weeks — until yesterday, when the TomTom map failed to load again on the 12" screen, just like before.

I found another/related thread (see below) suggesting to switch the user profile's display theme (e.g., Theme 5 → Theme 3 → back to Theme 5). I tried it, and it worked — but I’m still concerned this may be a recurring software problem.

Has anyone found a permanent fix or official update from RAM for this TomTom loading issue?

Thread 'Map not loading in instrument panel in front of steering column'

Picked up a brand new 2025 ram sat. Today the map in the instrument panel in fornt of steering column just keeps saying loading maps but will not load. Navigation on the console in middle of vehicle works still. Is this an easy fix or do i need to go back to dealer?
