Recently installed a 2.5” lift & RC UCAs. Ordered a set of falken wildpeak at4s 285/65 20s. Couldn’t install them because they were against the UCA. I found this odd because the 275/55s on now are said to be 11.3” wide.(falken WPs at3wa) The at4s were said to be 11.2”. I’ve also saw others in multiple groups running the 285s or even 12.5 wides & claim no spacers. Checked a co workers truck & his factory control arms & stock tires are very close as well, around 1/2” if I had to guess. Anyone have any input on this?

Sometimes aftermarket UCA protrude a little further than factory arms. You can install the proper wheel spacer/adapters and run your Falkens. Or get new wheels with 0 Offset that would also work.

This is the space I have with Mopar 2” UCA and 285/65r20 Yokohama Geolanders that are spec’d at 11.6” wide.

I am also running BORA 1” wheels adapters up front and 1.25” in the rear.

If I had 1” spacers I’d probably have about the same clearance I think. I was just trying to avoid going that route. Some people claim they are running this size with no spacer but I don’t see how. I think about 1/2” would have gave me the room. I got a set in 275/65s coming. Hoping they’ll work if not I guess I’ll get spacers.

I understand the frustration! Tire fitment can be tricky even when the specs seem right on paper. Sometimes, slight variations in tire sidewall construction or UCA design can lead to unexpected rubbing issues. When I upgraded to larger tires on my truck, I also faced clearance challenges, especially with aftermarket UCAs.

In my case, I had to experiment with different tire brands and occasionally used spacers to achieve the right fit without rubbing. It's worth checking if adjusting the UCA angle or adding minimal spacers could resolve the issue for you. Consulting with fellow enthusiasts or a trusted mechanic who has experience with your specific setup might provide additional insights tailored to your truck's configuration.

From what I’ve read & measured it’s 11.3. The tread width may be 10.8 but the sidewall to sidewall is wider. Just referring to the falken at3. I’m sure each brand varies
Not how that works bud. 275 is 10.8 inches wide as @theblet said. 285 is 11.2 inches wide. Also can see below in my signature what im running but i have 35x11.5r20 on a stock rim which is nearly the same (slightly bigger) as 285/65r20 and im running no spacers at all with zero rub in any way turning my wheels. So going to 275/65r20 (34x10.8r20) you should have no issues at all and no need to add spacers.

I have the stock 275/55s now. They are clearly not 10.8, but regardless I don’t see why the 285s didn’t work when others are running 12.5s. On stock wheels. I probably should have added that in the beginning.

Can only think as mentioned aftermarket UCA sticking out further since I'm running 285/45R22 stock and going to 285/65R20, but I'll have different wheels. Still shouldn't matter

Are the control arms mounted proper side? Only other thing I can think of... thinking outloud

Yes they are. My factory ones seem just as close. I checked a friends rebel (stock control arm) & they were close as well.

Try and search the forum with others running RC arms and see if any issues. Maybe call RC and ask them. They would know if they stick out further. I know BDS does.

yup, the series is the sidewall depth, be it 275, 285, 295. that's not going to deviate much, dependant on rim width. The tread width can be all over the place. 295s with 0 offset rims. Rims are cheaper than tires now.

Yeah im not sure whats wrong or what your doing but like i said im on 35x11.5r20 on the stock rim with no spacer at all and run Zone UCAs. Have zero issues what so ever with rubbing and didnt need to do any spacers. now if i ran 12.5 on stock rim, then yes i would absolutely need spacers or anew wheels with a offset.

And clearly, your wrong. On metric tires the first 3 numbers are the width of the tires, second 2 numbers are the height. Type in 275mm to inches on google, youll get 10.8. Type in 285 youll get 11.2. If im running 11.5 and 35s with just a level and UCAs you shouldnt have had any issue at all unless 1. Something went wrong or put in wrong with the UCAs. Or something else isnt right. There is thousands here running the same wheel set up if not very similar with no issues.
