Recently threw these wheels/tires on last month, I trimmed the plastics... had rubbing when I turned hard left. Was actually hoping over time it will wear itself out and not rub anymore.. well the bottom of the liner is pretty much cracked and split.

I'm going to be using a heat gun to try and push it back, if I can't do that I will be lifting the truck 2inches.

My question is, when people are trimming the liners, will this cause rust for whomever lives in the Salt belts ?

That sucks. Coming from Illinois where rust is pretty common, I'd say yes...... eventually.

That's exactly what I'm hoping to avoid. I had to trim mine about 4.5 inches up each side, that exposed some metal. Not much, but just enough to irritate me.

I used a black rubberized spray to put a few protective coats on and am hoping for the best. I'm in Colorado now, so I think I'm good.

Now however, I have to get fender flares or the spray is going to wreck my paint.

I was told that if I level it I'll have the clearance for the flares even on a hard turn and still fit in my garage.

This truck sucks down cash like an ex wife.

Yeah my tires stick out about a inch (with the flares) ... I just ordered a new wheel house and the spout so I can replace this and do it the right way by heating it up and pushing it back. Sucks we have to do that stuff to get nice wheels with an aggressive look on it
