Tire Pressure while towing.

Do you guys maxed out the tire pressure of the towing vehicle while towing a trailer or you guys just keep the tire pressure according to the what it says in the door panel.

I wouldn’t go beyond the door panel specs if you have factory tires.
 
I still have the stock Goodyear tires on my big horn and pull a 5,500lb travel trailer. The door sticker says 36lbs if I remember correctly. Max pressure on the tires is 44lbs. It feels much better with max pressure in the tires.
 
Best generic answer is to do what best works for your towing situation. It might be somewhere in the middle between door sticker and max pressure on side wall. Remember, you don't want a lot of sidewall flex/deflection while towing
 
Thanks guys for the quick response. I think driving around town/city I will keep the tire pressure at 36lbs and when I tow my trailer I will max the tire pressure to have the maximum wright capacity the tire was rated for. I appreciate the response guys, Thank you.

With the OEM Falkens I ran about 5 below Max in the rear and 10 below in the front, measured cold of course. Towing 5-7k enclosed. This was over many towing trips and felt like the best those tires could do to eliminate the squirm I was getting.

With the Mickey Thompson's I've only towed once (South Jersey to TN & back) and I'm still playing with it as it's still not an enjoyable towing experience. I 'think' I ran 55f / 60r, then 55fr/65r, and left it at that.
