Tire check: 275/70R18 on stock Laramie?

I've spent a long time looking through threads with mixed results, but I'm getting close to buying new wheels and tires for winter, so I figured I'd ask. I'm only bumping up about 1.25" in tire diameter, which seems reasonable and non-problematic, but here goes:

Will there be any issues putting a 275/70R18 tire (33.2" diameter) on a bone-stock, coil-sprung, non-ORP, non-lifted, non-leveled 2019 Laramie 1500?

Has anyone fitted this size tire on a similar truck yet? Most of what I'm finding is ORP/leveled/lifted or air suspension.

I'm looking at General Grabber ATX on Icon Rebound 18" wheels, if that makes any difference.

I've been doing the same research and it seems that the 275/70/18 is the way to go for stock suspension

This is the same size tire as stock duratracs that come with rebels. I swapped a set onto my bone stock non ORP Laramie with no issues.

So to make a long story short. Yes these tires will fit.

But wheels may affect clearance depending on back spacing etc. so just keep that in mind.

I just ordered a set of these size tires myself. From what the guys said above, they should fit without issue. Aftermarket wheels might be the only problem, if anything. I went with black Rebel's to avoid any possible issues because like you said, hard to find any info about this. I'm sure its out there. From what I gather, up to 33's are the safe bet for tires that won't rub on stock but I have seen people run bigger than that.

Will the extra weight per tire be a concern with gas mileage, unsprung weight, etc?

The extra load capability, 18/32 versus 14/32 of tread wear and an extra 1/2 inch of extra clearance are advantages for $16 more per tire (discounttire.com used for comparison).

Per Falken's site, there's only about .75 pound difference (60.2 vs 61.0) in weight with the LT (10-ply) versions of those tires:

The 47 lb weight is the SL (4-ply) tire, which isn't comparing apples to apples. But, if rotating weight is a concern (lots of city/stop & go driving), or you're wanting on-road bad weather performance, then the SL could be a nice option. Just don't do any rough off-roading or heavy towing.

Ah, I see what I did. I thought for certain I was comparing non-LT tires, but the 275/70/18 only comes in LT style for that size. Thanks for being kind in your reply. You’re right, I wasn’t making an accurate comparison. I rushed to post without accurately checking the information.

Update: 275/70R18s fit without issue. Haven't done anything flexy beyond speed bumps, but there appears to be plenty of clearance at least with a zero offset wheel.

I was going to get the same tire, but got a better deal on Goodyear Duratracs. I’m familiar with these tires, and the specs suit my desires. Same size.

I know it been almost a year but I'm also looking to go 275/70r18s with 2019 oem rebel wheels on my 2021 laramie sport (no off road package so just bare bone stock). Wanted to know more about your clearance and if you actually ran into any issues since?

No issues at all. My 2019 non-ORP Laramie has no problems with that tire size. Unless something changed from 2019 to 2021 model years, you should be fine.

Just an update, 18' rebel wheels clear perfectly its a tight fit via the caliper but everything work. Also pair with falken at3w Lt285/65r18 tires.

Hopefully bilstiens 6112 comes in soon. Will do a 1-2" front lift to level it out

I just bought the OEM Rebel wheels and Iam thinking of getting 275/70R18 tires instead of LT275/65R18.

Is there a difference in using the 65 or 70 with the 275 tires?

Also, after using them, is there any sound when you fully turn your steering wheel and move?
