So I'm thinking I'll need to replace my tie rod ends, I haven't jacked the truck up to check but my steering seems to "loose" when I go side to side with my steering wheel, I get a little shake when braking after releasing the brake pedal. So I'm thinking outer tie rod or inner or both.

I've got 101,000km (63,000mi) and of that 100k about 80k of it is after I lifted the truck with the mopar lift kit, front coils changed from sport to rebel springs and 35" tires (with spacers) so I'm thinking it may be time. Or is this premature?

Anywho, I'm looking at Rockauto as they seem to always have fair pricing and fast shipping. I want to get parts before president <redacted>..I mean trump, slaps tarrifs on auto parts in May. I know people say Moog has gone downhill, what about Mevtech and there TTX line? Mopar stuff is there and cheaper then dealer I'm sure, but still expensive. Any suggestions?

Would you suggest doing it with truck on the ground? With the lift I have room to do them without jacking up my truck? Best way to check for sure if they are shot? Lift truck and wiggle tire up and down?

Bonus,

After over 5 years of oil changes on my package when I purchased the truck I've finally come to the point of changing my own oil now..damn lol. I purchased a Futmoto drain plug, had one on my 08' Cummins, and I got one for this, unfortunately the dealer mechanic wouldn't install it one my last oil change. Easy to do, but I understand they don't want to risk installing an aftermarket plug.

So now that I have to do it, I get looking closer at the oil drain and more importantly the filter what a stupid spot. Give me the low down, how big of a mess does the drain plug make with that bar? After the valve is installed it won't matter, but this first one with drain plug will. Also, how the heck do you pull the oil filter without getting a huge mess? I'm thinking bag over it and twist but man it looks tight up there. Anyone use this special filter funnels? I have one in my cart but haven't hit checkout yet.

Also, I can also do my oil change without lifting my truck. In fact, I can get under there and the oil filter would be easier to reach. Also, what oil do you guys recommend?

Thanks. Sorry for the mixed thread but this is more about the tie rods then the oil change.

don't blame trump he didn't move auto part production out of the country.🤡
at advance auto the MOOG'S are 27.19 with coupon code SPRING even with a tarrif on them they will be cheap. i'm sure 75 buck's isn't going to break the bank.

I'm in Canada, so I do blame trump. But it was a joke more or less.

Not about breaking the bank, it's a out getting parts that are good for the money. I don't kind spending more if the value is there for the part.

I thought people were saying MOOG has gone downhill compared to what they use to be?

FYI - lot more information then you asked for in the thread.
My opinion - not as bad as it is made out to be. Your second one will be a lot easier and you will get better with each change. You can reach the filter from underneath with one hand and from the front with the other.

i get it like Justin Trashdeau. lol
i have heard they have gone down mainly because i believe they are produced in China but still may be the best readily available option.
i just got some counterfeit "genuine Mopar ignition coils" on ebay. i'm getting a refund. i got a set off Rock for the same price that were not misrepresented and i was glad to see they were made in Mexico. i can't believe it's come to that.
sadly China could make high quality but they pollute, waste energy, and raw materials making junk.

Yeah, and they, China, doesn't contribute to carbon offset haha.

I agree they could make high quality stuff but I think they are more about quantity over quality unfortunately.

Please keep the political snipes out of the posts or they will get shut down/deleted.

Statements of facts (tariffs affecting prices) are one thing. Insults and childish arguments are another.
Yes sorry I debated about putting anything down as I didn't want it to turn to a political thing. I should haven known better. Thanks for not shutting it down and I apologize. Just the current climate I couldn't help myself.

I will probably end up with OEM, at over $400 CDN to do both inner and outer, but I may only do the outers. I will have to investigate this weekend to see what is going on, maybe even the ball joints but I will find out.

Does anyone know why the MEVOTECH TXMS25673 TTX don't work on sport suspension? Is there a difference?

the other thing is I lifted my truck with the Mopar kit with Rebel springs in the front.

I doubt any difference. The only difference I know is Rebel ORP and Air suspension. I ordered the TTX Tie Rods and lower control arms for when I do my lift in the next couple months. My truck has 94K miles.
