Hello Everyone,
Last night I was driving and all of a sudden the lights on my steering wheel went out (Cruise an dash commands). However the cruise stayed on so it was just the lights. Weird but I'll look into it. As I came upon a truck I put on my blinker to change lanes and the flashers on the back of my side mirrors did not flash. What the heck? As I normally do when I pass an 18 wheeler I give a quick flash of bright lights to get his/her attention that I am going to pass (Really old trucker thing). By now you may have guessed, no bright lights either. After getting a bit ahead of the truck I tested for brake lights. I could see red glow on the ground when I hit the brakes but otherwise there were no lights on the back of the truck. I did not check the other lights (license plate or fog) because it was late and I don't get around very well anymore. I will have to hire it out but hoping to have an intelligent conversation with the tech that will ultimately need to figure it out.
I appreciate any light (no pun) anyone can shed on this. I can see a system of lights going out like the tail lights or headlights but this leaves me with dim lights and brake lights but nothing else outside. Is there a master system that could go out and intentionally leave these lights to be run by a different "emergency" system to get you to safety? I have not looked at any fuses or anything as I can't get down there to do it.
Unfortunately, I am new to this town and have not met anyone that is a good FIGURE OUTER. So to a shop I will have to go.
