thermostat sticking? gets to 230 degrees

I have a 2015 Ram that I've owned since new. It always stays at right around 200 degrees. What temperature does everyone else's 2019 Ram get to? My 2019 constantly gets to 230 & only cools down from the fans. Is my thermostat sticking?

The factory thermostat is ~203 so don’t expect it to run any cooler than that.

On mine I see 204-217 in normal driving. I did see 227 while towing uphill. I’m not looking at it all the time though.

crazy. I tow 5 to 6 days a week with 15 Ram. No matter what I do it always stays around 200 winter, summer, a/c, no a/c.
Same 5.7 Hemi. Just wonder why the difference with my 19 Ram.

Maybe because the 15 has a belt driven fan and the 19 only has an thermostatically controlled electric cooling fan?

Could be. It definitely doesn't overheat. As soon as the fans kick on the temps drop immediately. Usually, right at 228.

Thanks. Guess it's operating as it should. It's just different than my other truck.

Thanks for asking this. I have been checking my gauges a lot, trying to establish what is normal, and the other day I saw the temperature go way up, exactly as you had. I did my research and discovered the 203 degree thermostat. It still seems like it goes up too high when it's moving, like a sticking thermostat or low coolant. And it's not low coolant.

Good to hear that others experience the same so maybe there isn't anything wrong.
