Hello All, Last week, I bought a 2020 Ram 2500 Tradesman. It's a great-looking truck, and all seemed well. However, a few minor things needed to be fixed, like better Tires and an alignment, which is always to be expected when getting a used truck. Then the nightmare began. My Fob opened the doors and closed them, activating the Car alarm without a problem. When I try to push the start button, it indicates no FOB detected. I reached out to the local dealership, and they stated it would cost $139 to reprogram the fob key, but when I went there, they then stated it would cost $289 to diagnose the issue first, programming would be $139, which is still separate. Does anyone know a better way to resolve this issue other than getting fleece from the dealerships?

If the fob was working, why would they need to reprogram it? Did you test the fob battery. Can you start the truck by pressing the bottom of the against the start button?

Also, you might have better luck in the Homepage - HD Rams forum. This is the 5th Gen 1500 Rams site.

The doors open and close with the FOB, and the battery is new. I have to depress the start button with the FOB to start, but if I just press the Start button, it will not detect the FOB next to me.

Is there any after market led bulbs in the third brake/cargo light? I had the same problem and that fixed it

I have the same problem, along with "fob battery low". I think I have narrowed it down the the antenna in the canter console. From everything I have been able to find out, the antenna in the center console controls the enter and go, and the PTS button, which is the issue I am having. So, guess I will have to remove the center console to get at the antenna. Not looking forward to it.

i have new fob battery's my truck will remote start and the prox sense will open the doors when i touch the handle from time to time when i push the start button it will say no fob detected after i hit it once or twice more and it'll be okay. the other day i had to touch the pts with the fob but i don't really consider this a issue. the issue is a normal lock cylinder like my camaro had would really be best, call me old.
