The BEST Dash Cameras for Our Trucks

Like most posters, my research was long, BUT not too painful. AND I appreciate the many great comments here. I'm picking up the Nextbase 622GW Dash Cam along w/ the Rear Facing ("Cabin") Camera and the Rear Window cameras. WAY more than I originally budgeted, but they have terrific features, so hopefully they'll live up to their spec's and price!

I just picked up two of these on clearance for $50 each. I should have bought a third. It covers the front and Interior (rear, out the window), has speed, GPS And WiFi to connect your phone to. I captured a “cross the centerline” Car yesterday. Here are some pics. I leave it recording all the time,

Sorry, I bought them locally at a Maine discount store called Marden’s Surplus. They do not sell online but keep a look out at online vendors. I wish I had bought the other two they had.

Oh ok. Thanks

I'm kind of surprised dash cams aren't a factory option these days. I haven't heard of any manufacturers offering them. I'd gladly opt for it to be integrated from new.

I know Tesla does across the board, also for Corvette since 2014. Maybe they don't watch you watching their service departments screwing up your vehicles, lol.

I have the Garmin 55 Dash cam hardwired. One of the top rated.
1440p 180* Voice activated recording and photo taking.
Red Light camera and Speed camera notification.
GPS. Has Parking mode option.
I really like its compact size. Takes a Mini SD card.
Excellent product from an excellent brand.
Here’s a link if interested.

This seems decent but I think I’m interested in a front and rear camera system similar to Viofo’s but something that’s not so cheap looking. Lol

Has ur unit overheated like some of the reviews have mentioned?

@Mr. Hindsight,
Never had one issue with mine.
I didn’t opt for an additional rear view cam as I figured anyone hitting me from the rear is going to be at fault anyway.
also didn’t want to mess with my headliner and wiring as my truck has the full panoramic sun roof.

Thanks for the reply. I see what ur saying. Good to hear no issues. I didn’t notice the rear camera option when I looked at the link. I’ll have to give it another look.

They don’t have the option.
I meant I didn’t look at different front and rear cameras for those reasons.
I liked how compact the Garmin was.

I really don’t care about price. I just want a a front and rear camera that records 24/7 in 2K or 4K and the recordings are save in the cloud or something like that. Since I don’t know much about dash cams, I know will have to research if what I’m looking for is even available.

My Next Base 622GW (https://www.bestbuy.com/site/nextbase-622gw-4k-dash-cam-silver/6412920.p?skuId=6412920) is terrific and routing the Rear View Camera's wire to the front (I also have the pano roof) was super easy and is hidden very well. It addition to the Rear View Camera, you can instead opt for a Cabin View Camera or a Telephoto Rear Camera. The last (2) simply plug into the front camera unit, w/ no wires to run from back to front.

Some of the features:
  • 4K,
  • Enhanced Night Vision,
  • Image Stabilization,
  • Extreme Weather Mode,
  • includes what3words,
  • WiFi & Bluetooth Hyper-Sync,
  • Intelligent Parking Mode,
  • Emergency SOS,
  • Super Slow Motion,
  • Polarizing Filter

decided on this.. thoughts? why are aren't rear view mirror dash cams more popular? it seems like it has everything and even 4k without obstructing window realestate

I know this is an old post, but how do you like your rear view dash cam? Specifically this Vantop?

Probably not THE best but I have been perfectly happy with my 70mai 1s, so I joined the Indiegogo for the new A800.
4k, ADAS, parking, GPS + rear camera for just over $100.
Bumping an old thread , did you install the 70mai A800? I was looking at the 70mai pro+ and the A800 and the viofo. just wanted to see your opinion of the a800

BlackVue DR750S-2CH IR Truck. The best dash cam that we recommend is the BlackVue DR750S-2CH IR Truck, which not only has a waterproof 15m (49-feet) coaxial cable, with an option for a 20m (65-feet) cable, that you will be able to use to connect to your rear camera. surveyzop
