The 295/70/18 or 305/65/18 dilemma – seeking advice

When I replaced my stock wheels and tires I went with BFG K02 in 285/65/18 because I was hesitant to attempt anything larger, but after living with them for a year and a half, they just aren't beefy enough to match the Rebel's attitude. I recently came close to pulling the trigger on some Ridge Grapplers in 285/70, but shied away because I really like having the 3 peak compound and also because they didn't look much beefier than the 285/65.

Some details about my truck:
- Factory air suspension with Revel front links (no spacer); ~1" rake
- Wheels are 18x9 ET0; running 1/4" spacer (so ET-6 really)
- Not overlanding/off-roading, but I am in the snow frequently each winter

I'm not in a rush to replace my current tires, as they only have ~15k miles on them, but when the times comes to swap them out, I'm unsure which option will be better – the 295/70 (34.3"x12") or the 305/65 (33.5"x12.2"). The 295's seem to fill out the wheel well best, while the 305's give the truck a more stout look. My gut tells me I'd be happiest with the 295's, but I'm concerned about them rubbing.

Polling the hive to get input and opinions on fitment/rub and drivability in both dry and snowy conditions.

EDIT: I found this thread, but it does not exactly address my question/concern

I put 295/70/18 Toyo ATIIs on my rebel with 1.5" wheel spacers, stock wheels, and took the front end up with Bilsteins 1.2" (~1" rake). If I did my math right, the now -19.05 offset on on my stock 18x8 would be very similar to your 18x9 with -6. I had to remove my mud flaps, bend the pinch weld, and zip tie my fender liner back to keep from rubbing. Butttttt.....it does look great and is now rub free!

Pictures, or it didn’t happen!

The bottom 4 on the first page are all 295/70's. On my Titan I was very happy with that tire size on my 18x9 +0 wheels, and I'm heavily debating those or 35x12.5's on the Ram.

Here's a quick pic. I'll get some better ones this weekend.

im about to attempt 305/70/18 for my truck lol have fox 2.5 and off road bumper so lets see

Thanks, and please keep the replies coming. I've pondered abandoning the factory air suspension in favor of a Carli setup, so that may happen eventually. Really comes down to how long I intend to keep the truck.

im watching as well i want to get the 305s but may have to settle ont he 295, with a mopar 2 inch going in in a few weeks if i have to the dealer will add a 1 inch spacer as well to help with getting some 35s on it

no real rubbing with stock height at full lock but i did the bending of bracket and heating up the fender liner up still to give it more clearance... it was close i say about half a inch
