Tailgate wiring grommet

I did a quick search through the forums and wasn’t able to find anyone else who asked about this so now I’m really curious...

I was hosing out my bed the other day and noticed there is no grommet around where the wiring harness goes into the tailgate, it’s just a big hole with the wiring running into it. Is this the norm or is mine missing the weather seal?

There is no grommet for this location. There should only be a clip that holds the harness in place.

I pulled the factory build instructions, does not list a grommet

Maybe the 2020 don't have one, my 2019 does have a big plastic piece(fitting) there.
