Tailgate not working

I have a 2020 ram 1500 big horn it's a bace model kinda doesn't have the extra stuff but it does have a useless electric tailgate button is it possible to remove it and install a manual tailgate bc the electric button is not working for me lol

Can’t you open the tailgate “manually” with the gate’s handle?

I don’t like that tailgate button. Unlike yours, mine works fine and I fear the gate dropping unknown to me while driving. It causes me to check my rear camera repeatedly. I’d rather there be no electric open capability.

5th gen tailgates don't have a manual handle and mechanical linkage. They have electrically activated actuators to release the tailgate. It may be possible to modify your tailgate and convert it to mechanical if you have the fabrication skills. Or if you're willing to pay someone who could do that. But it would be completely custom because there is no bolt on conversion for that.

My 24 tailgate won't lock. There's no click back there when the lock button is pressed.

Suggestions?
