Has anyone figured out a way to run a under tailgate light bar on these new Rams?

Can you post some pics of your install and wiring? I'd love to look into this but really don't want to splice into the existing wiring.

Did you have to order the model with the adapter module?

It's dark out, but here ya go. Basically, I used the two silver clamps that came with kit on the far outside of the bar about 6 inches in on each side, double checking that it was straight. Then I used two 3/4 " NM Cable wood staples painted black, with #4 Stainless steel 1" screws to secure it in the middle about 14" inches apart. I wired it up with the Curt 55384 connector behind the bumper. For the reverse you tap into the middle white wire with a wire tap on the Curt connector. This way you don't need to touch or tap any factory wiring. I did it with the install with the tailgate on, because I like to makes things harder than they need to be. Good Luck with yours !

Thanks. I was looking at the sequential one, but I'm seeing quite a few reviews with people saying they don't last.

Also, I'm seeing that since I have the BLIS, that I would need to hardwire into tail lights....so I'm going to hold off at least for a while

I didnt think the OPT7 triple would fit in that spot. The Curt adaptor keeps you from having to tap in to the taillights. I am not sure why BLIS would stop you from using the curt adaptor on the trailer hitch connections. Anyway, good luck in whatever you decide !

any chance you could take better pictures of your install, very interested!

Best I could for for ya.. Couldn't crawl under the truck this morning in my work clothes to get detailed pictures of the Curt Harness which basically is acting like a splitter for the tow connections.

Thanks!

Does it helpful for the rear cam at night/dark? as you aware, rear cam isn't getting very crip images with the current reverse light.

There seems to be a strip of plastic trim where the tailgate light bar goes and the backup cam wire is directly in the middle. Do you stick the light bar directly to the plastic trim with 3M tape? Does the backup cam wire interfere?

I did not use the 3M to stick it to the plastic trim. This way I can take it off by unscrewing 4 screws, in the event I need to access that rearview camera access panel. Or if I need to take off the tailgate for any reason (I dont see any reason in my life that I would need to take the gate off)

Got mine done tonight, thanks for the help Jamie.howlett! I used the clips and spaced them away from the plastic with 4 small washers and ran 2 black zip ties in 2 spots where there was no lights for added hold

Thanks! Just added my own touch to your idea! I’ve always added these on my trucks with no thought required, this one had me scratching my head when I first looked at it!

That's what I wanted to know as well - it was the main reason for considering one of these.
