Tailgate doesn’t open

I have a 2021 big horn and the tail gate doesn’t open and the passenger side tail light quit working. It’s been to the dealership 2 times. The dealership is telling me the bcm controls the tailgate and the lights. The dealership replaced the bcm and still has the same problem. The dealership now wants to keep my truck take the cab and back bed off and start checking the wiring. I have a warranty but not sure what the warranty will cover. Has anyone else had this issue before?

I had this problem but just once.
Try pushing in on the top of the tailgate then pull the handle.

I have tried that and I don’t have the handle I have a button under where the handle is. I have also tried taking the panel off the tailgate and turning the tabs on the solenoids that operate the latches and that won’t open it either.

My tailgate handle has the button as well.
Guess I worded it wrong.

It happens on my ‘22 from time to time. If it isnt used much it forgets how to operate it seems.

I did this doesn’t work either. Dealership can’t even figure it out. Dealership changed the bcm and now thinks a short in a wire somewhere. Evidently the tailgate and tail lights are on the same wiring harness.
