Just took delivery of my 2021 Longhorn yesterday. Beautiful truck inside and out! This morning I realized the tailgate auto drop feature is sticking. When I press the button inside or the key fob, the tailgate releases its latches but won’t drop. Is there an easy adjustment for this or does it need to go back to the dealer? Thanks.

It happened to me after a year of ownership. You'd use the tailgate release and the tailgate wouldn't open. I'd try the fob tailgate release and just hear the clicking of the latching mechanism but the tailgate wouldn't open. Thought it was my cover binding up with the tailgate but that wasn't the issue. There are a couple of threads on this. Some have taken it back to the dealer to watch them put grease on the latching mechanism and the post. I did the same with white lithium grease and seems to have solved the problem. There is another post where the owner used WD-40 Dry Lube. Not sure if that worked. Good luck.

Thanks. After I’ve opened and closed it 30 times today, it seems to be working 70% of the time now. Maybe it just needed to be “worked in” since it’s new. 🤷🏻‍♂️

As already mentioned, obtain a can of spray white lithium grease and hit the latch mechanisms on both sides. You can try very light lubricating oil (gun oil), but don't use petroleum grease.

I spray mine once a year with white lithium and it's problem free for 12 months.
