Tailgate Assist (aftermarket)

Hey all, I'm new to the forums, I have a 1500 Bighorn 4x4, and am looking at making it easier on my family with getting an assist for my tailgate. Just curious if anyone knows of any that will for sure fit. I was looking at the following (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00GUF74HQ/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER&psc=1), but I wasn't sure if it would fit with it being a 2019.

I am confused. What is the problem your actually having with he tail gate? It opens with a push of a button and it doesn't with much so its easier to close.

With my family opening the tail gate, if I'm not there, and having it slam down (my truck doesn't have factory tail gate assist) is risky and if I can make it safer and simpler for a few bucks I will; so, I was looking for an aftermarket assist that might bolt on.

Yeah, would've been nice, but for the price I got the truck, missing out on that option isn't a huge deal. Just hoping some assists that work for the 18s will work for the 19s; if not, might have to wait for one to get updated to work.

I wonder if you guys without the tailgate assist could add the factory unit easily enough. If the mounts for the strut assembly are bolted on, it should be fairly straightforward.

What is the minimum trim level that comes with the tailgate assist?

Not sure if the DZ43301 ended up fitting your 2019, but Dee Zee now has the DZ43302 offered for the 2019+ DT models (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07N33C8JN/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1). Snapped right on in with about 30-60 minutes of install and works fine. I would recommend using needle nose pliers to get those pesky plastic clips out without breaking.
