Anybody ever try upgrading their big horn dash from the hard plastic to a limited dash?
Oh, that’s a good point and I don’t really care about having leather. I just don’t want hard black plastic.i have a 2020 went from big horn to Laramie. i didn't want to mess with the leather separating issue.
I’m assuming it was a huge task to switch that over?i have a 2020 went from big horn to Laramie. i didn't want to mess with the leather separating issue.
just saw this after i already sent my last post. Thank you for the information. This is helpful. If it fits, i'm going to do this, just might pay for someone to install it given i get ham fisted. I'm sure being new still the dash won't be cheap but that's ok, i want it, the hard black plastic on a $62,000 truck is just pathetic. I would have paid $75K for a truck if they offered it in Quadcab.Laramie is soft touch but not leather. In all it took me about three or four hours, but I used a Lkq dash. I did not swap over the metal beam behind it just the cover and all Laramie matching trim. You have to pull the console back remove the defrost vent close to the windshield. And start pulling every screw that you see they are all Phillips head screws with the exception of the two that hold the driver side panel under the steering wheel that is two 6 millimeter screws

A parts guy! Not trying to trash talk the parts people, but they do have to go by what the numbers in the computer say from my experience. So i appreciate all this input. I'm going to digest this a bit. If i ever get my truck back from the dealer shop I'll start down this path (vibration isn't tires, rims or half shafts, they have a Driveshaft on order). Lots of great information, thank you.As a GM parts employee, we have no idea if it’ll work or not. When it comes to color or style manufacturers are extremely vague on true differences. Something I noticed on my swap, the truck the dash came from had more options than mine. My truck was originally a 8.4 inch Uconnect for radio and the truck I pulled the dash from was a Uconnect 4 12 inch. The Lkq Dash included all of the antennas for the radio. Helped me out whenever I decided to convert to the Uconnect 5 12 inch because my truck didn’t have any of them. Luckily for me, the Lkq Dash had all of the antenna wiring as well. Some of the main harness was cut, but I pulled off what I needed and threw away the rest. If you go with a used one another mindful thought is pull from a 19 or 20 Laramie because they have the wiring harness and all the dash illumination lights that the 21 plus do not have. I can’t say for certain if they are the same on the 25 model year. But they are the same 19 to 24 quad cab and crew cab. If I had to guess I would say they are probably the same as I see little to no difference between the two. to save a little bit of money. I went with used. I agree I wish the quad cab was offered in more trim levels, but I will say that there are some quad cab 19 and 20 Laramie‘s but they are rare. It took me forever to find the rear seats and rear door panels from a quad cab.
