Has anyone been able to install a subwoofer behind the rear seat of a crew cab without the etorque? What box was used or was it custom built? If so, what are the dimensions on the box? I would like to get one to two ten inch subs back there if possible. I would rather not loose the storage under the seat.

The Limited has a sub behind the passenger side back seat. I would start there as far as an enclosure. Not sure if something is made to fit other than a stock one, so possibly building something may work. You would need a shallow sub though.

you won't get two 10s back there no matter what you do. A shallow 10 down low might work. I'm going to check it out later. I want to know the depth of the factory box.

Following up on this it's not worth it. The OEM box is about 2.5" deep and even the smallest sub, the rockville 10" isn't going to put out more than the OEM since it's pretty much the same things. The only way it would work is if you slide the rear seat all the way forward and use a very shallow 10 and mount it at the bottom where there's about 5.5" of clearance. It will be a custom box and not worth it.

I reached out to a well know truck sub box maker and we talked on the phone and I sent in some measurements and a video. The goal is to build a up firing sealed 10" enclosure that sits inside the fold out storage under the rear passenger side. It sounds promising and once I get a beta product in my hands I'll update everyone here.

I just did a little write up on this.
I actually just added a 10" JL Audio TW1 .25 ohms sub behind the rear drive side seat - 400w powered sub
box dimensions: 17" x 13.5" x 6.75"
If you don't have reclining rear seats you may have to make it 5.5" instead of 6.75"

If you want 2 subs then you might be able to fit another box behind the passenger seat, but it would have to be even skinnier behind the cabin vents stick out a bit.

Thank you do you have the link to the write up you did?
