I know mixing green and orange coolant will cause issues similar to this. The coolant in my ecodiesel is purple/pink depending on if it is hot or cold. Not to sure about the hemi. I think it is called OAT coolant.

Also, there is no dipstick on my overflow reservoir.

I don’t think it is normal and would probably do a coolant flush or visit your dealer if it’s still under warranty. I’d think powertrain warranty would cover this but who knows.

I went thru this earlier this summer. This is the way it was explained to me at the dealership. The 19 Hemi's and beyond use a 10yr/150,000 mile antifreeze. Mopar part # 68163849AB
The previous years used a 5 yr/100,000 mile antifreeze Mopar part # 68051212AC
The auto stores I visit knew nothing about the difference, didn't stock the newer stuff.
Do not mix the two. They are not compatible.
I don't know anything about the eco diesels and their cooling setup.
Be sure and ask the right questions of the right people and double check the part numbers to be sure.
Whatever that sludge is, it definitely does not belong there.

Mine has it, and I'm at 61k. I'm pretty sure it has something to do with the astronomically high temps these run at.
