The leak is corcled in yellow

Getting in my truck bout to head to work i noticed a spot of oil and my floor cover.

I went with my ohine under driverside dash to try and spot an oil leak. I found spot of oil on the u joint is what it looks like on the steering column .

I drove to work cleaned the drop. Failed to mention it was a drop that feel not really a leak in the sense.
Cleaned it and put cardboard under ans no leak after work got home and did the same still not further leaks.

Anyone have any idea what this is and why its happening

Seems like grease from the factory on the steering column. It got hot so it dripped on the floor. Just excess grease, nothing to worry about. You wiped it and hasn't come back. Fixed!

I'm inclined to agree with Joe, but for future reference it's helpful to include your vehicle's details when asking for help with something. In this case I'd expect this is something that would be more likely to happen on a newer truck than on one that's a year or two old.
