Got my 2025 semi recently... My last two rams were hemis without the stop start function. My question is when the stop engages at a red light or stop sign when hitting the gas peddle to take off is a bit of hesitation for lack of a better term normal? Takes a second or two once hit the gas for it to feel smooth.

My truck doesn’t have A/S/S, but my wife’s Navigator does. I dislike it greatly, particularly because you can jump off the line without that little pause while the engine cranks back up. What I’ve found to be beneficial is this: a second or two before I come off the brake and go (like when the light turns green), I let off the brake just a little. Not even enough to move forward, but just enough so that the engine turns back on. That way, it’s ready to go when I am.

My guess is that the rough feeling you get is the transmission slipping slightly. When the engine is off the pump in the transmission isn't working so there is no fluid pressure to operate the clutch packs. After you take your foot off the brake and the engine is running the transmission pump hasn't had time to build line pressure before you begin to accelerate so you feel a slight shudder.
