I lived in this area for a number of years. This will be a blow to a lot of folks. When I lived there, the plant made the Neon and now it makes the Cherokee.

This makes no sense, the cherokee has been a decent vehicle for them.
 
From what I understand, they want to save money for EV production. They choose that plant probably because Cherokee sales are down over sixty percent this year, the biggest drop of any vehicle in the lineup. I'm wondering why they don't change up the products at that plant, but maybe they are reducing plants down since they won't need as many for EV production in the future.

Hopefully those employees can get jobs at other Stellantis plants, which they say they are working on.
